What is Going On???
We had yet another school shooting today, this one at Northern Illinois University. Six people, including the gunman were dead as of the latest report. This is terribly sad. I don’t know what’s going on in this country, but we’ve had WAY too many of these types of crimes in the past few years.
I really wish these nutjobs would just simply shoot THEMSELVES first.
Not to make light of this tragic event, but doesn’t that student in the picture above look just like Jim from The Office? I could almost swear it’s him.

I agree, they should shoot themselves first, would make things so much better…it’s just so sad.

DD: It’s sad. Not much to say. You missed the live press conference given by a great campus policeman immediately after the incident when the media was asking him STUPID question after STUPID question. Example: “Before the gunman killed himself, what was he wearing?” The cop looked at this reporter in amazement, paused….and said, “Clothes.”
Tragic days, I suppose, can’t be complete without stupid questions.

Even if I gave kids of my own and making the best in my powers to raise them safely, in a healthy way, educated etc, I always get the chills not only when things like this happen, but also when reading lines like that in response

it’s not really the way to make everything right, now is it? I know how frustrating it gets when you’re powerless and your kids are endangered, but I strongly believe all things come from education. One missed step in educating them and you’ve got yourself a mass killer teen or a psychotically behaving once so normal child.
Of course, it’s just MHO and I’d never try to impose it on anybody. I have my own demons to fight in wars like that, still I wanted to share my view with you.

Kpriss: Thank you very much for sharing your view. Of course, I would prefer that no one was killed, I was just making the point that it seems like so many people with a death wish have been taking innocent victims with them when they do it. I agree with you that the kids today are being failed somewhere along the line and I hope we can figure out what’s going on. That’s why I titled the post the way I did.
Nanette: It’s uncanny isn’t it? I couldn’t believe how much that student looked like Jim. There was another picture from the scene where a student looked exactly like Ice Cube but I didn’t share that one.
