On Sunday evening we went to Mass. Church is an adventure with The Babito, especially since he’s been able to walk. He never wants to sit on our laps. He loves to stand up and hold onto the pew in front of us. Whenever the choir sings, especially if it’s a more upbeat number he likes to dance. Too bad we’re not Baptist, because The Babito would fit right in. Except for when he starts crying during the readings or the eulogy. I spend a lot of time at church out in the foyer with The Babito.
This Sunday was the funniest though. The choir was being backed up by a piano, guitar and drummer, so they were really rocking out, at least for church. Right after the Eucharistic prayer, the choir broke into the “Hosanna in the Highest” song, and The Babito started getting jiggy with it.
Now for those of you unfamiliar with the Catholic Mass, this is the most sacred part, right before the priest starts the Communion rite. The song ended and there was complete silence in the church. Right at that moment, with the song just ending, The Babito (and I’m not even exaggerating here) yells out “Yeah!” and starts clapping. My wife and I could barely contain our laughter, and everyone around us got a kick out of it too.

Haha, oh my goodnesss! That’s got to be both mortifying and hilarious at the same time. Not a rare moment when you have kids, I gather.
that is TOO effin cute. omg i woulda liked to have seen that!
This is sooo funny! My parents had a funny church moment too. I was probably 5 years old and we were attending mass but it was for a wedding so you and I both know how long those masses can run. Well, I was misbehaving so my Dad walked me outside too discuss my behavior. Well, I guess he forgot how the walkways in and around those old churches echoe. He completely started to scold me and explained how I would be punished if I continued. My Dad is loud AND melodramatic. Well, the whole entire church heard what was going on and my poor mom just wanted to dissappear into the pew! I am alway reminded about that one when their is a wedding or we are all in church as a family together.
Thanks for sharing!
How funny!!!
