- I’ve noticed that our toilet paper is always fully stocked, yet quite often the Kleenex dispenser in the restrooms are often empty. And not just at our house, but at many bathrooms I’ve frequented. Why is this? Do we underestimate our kleenex usage or is it that toilet paper is an absolute necessity and we’re more careful to always have plenty on hand? Thoughts? Theories?
- I’ve noticed that the Babito goes to bed right away with no problems (too fast) when my wife has chores for me to do, but it seems like he takes forever to go to sleep when there’s something I’ve been waitng all day to watch on TV (Lakers playoffs, Monday Night Football, Angels game). Thank God for my DVR.
- This won’t be shocking to most of you, but I’ve noticed there’s a lot of WEIRD people here on the internet. A few weeks ago there was a guy that was complaining that Black Hockey Jesus didn’t comment on his blog posts anymore. He was complaining about it in the comments to one of BHJ’s posts, so I clicked over to his site to see what this guy was all about and he had a long rambling post about how it’s not right that BHJ wasn’t commenting any more, and that he commented often and even had BHJ in his blogroll. He also threatened to remove BHJ from his blogroll over the whole thing. How weird is that? First of all, why should someone care whether or not someone comments on their blog? The scary thing was there were dozens of people commenting on that guys post that they agreed with him. And who cares if someone removes you from their blogroll, people? Get a life. By the way, the guy’s site sucked.
- Is it just me or are college football games so much more fun to watch than NFL games? Maybe it’s just that we don’t have a team in L.A., and I don’t really have a favorite team anymore. I used to be a major Rams fan, but those days are over. The Chargers-Broncos game was fun to watch. The Chargers got completely screwed on that late fumble call. They should have won the game, but now they’re 0-2.
- I love the new Genius feature on iTunes. Genius creates a custom playlist for you based on a single song of your choice. You pick the song and Genius finds other songs that go well with that song. You can pick 25, 50, 75, or 100 song playlists. These custom playlists also help you discover songs you didn’t even remember you had on iTunes and also help you rediscover songs you haven’t listened to in a while.
- Did you hear about the girl who’s auctioning off her virginity to help pay for her masters degree? She’s hoping the bidding reaches $1 million. If she gets that much they’ll be a lot of poor guys waiting a little longer to lose theirs. The story, including a picture of the girl, is HERE.
- Lastly, on a very serious note, my heart and prayers go out to the people (and their families) who were involved in that terrible Metrolink accident in L.A. on Friday. I ride the Metrolink to work most days (on a different route) and I can’t imagine the horror they went through. Stories coming out today say that the engineer driving the train may have been sending text messages (to a group of teenagers he befriended?) just a minute or two before the trains collided. Despite a little trepidation, I’ll be back on the train tomorrow. I’m curious to see if ridership is down because of this accident.
