I’m finally getting around to filling this in……A little about myself:
- I grew up and spent most of my life in Lakewood, CA.
- I have one brother who’s 3 years younger than me.
- My parents, who’ve been happily married for40 years, still live in Lakewood.
- I went to Lakewood High School.
- I got both my bachelors (Business Management) and MBA (Finance) at Long Beach State.
- I met my wife in 1999, got engaged in 2001, and we were married in January 2003. We honeymooned in Cozumel, Mexico.
- I met my wife through my Dad, who hired her into the large company we all work for.
- We moved out to the I.E. (for those of you that don’t know, the Inland Empire) in Southern California so we could purchase a large McMansion at a low price.
- I love the area but hate my commute. It’s gotten better since I started riding the Metrolink trains.
- In August of 2006 our beautiful son, the “Babito” was born. He’s changed our lives for the better and we love him to DEATH!
- We have two King Charles Cavalier Spaniels, brother and sister named Charlie and Audrey. Audrey’s named after Audrey Hepburn, my wife’s favorite actress. Charlie’s name comes from King Charles (not very original, huh?) Here’s a picture of them:
- My favorite foods: Italian, Mexican, and Greek
- Favorite TV shows: The Office, The Amazing Race, Family Guy
- Favorite movies: Forrest Gump, The Godfather, The Jerk
- Favorite musicians: Jack Johnson, Bob Dylan, U2, Counting Crows
- Favorite teams: Angels, Lakers, and Rams (I know they suck!)
Why Am I Blogging?I started out blogging to document being a father and the joys that our son is bringing us. Since I started I’ve gone beyond that to more of a general blog about things that interest me. I don’t know where I’ll go from here, but I’ll definitely continue to blog about the Babito and our adventures in raising him and hopefully some day a little Babita or Babito 2. I’ve become addicted to blogging and meeting a lot of great people with interesting blogs. I think I’m here to stay.Let me know if there’s anything else you’d like to know, and thanks for reading.

I am a big fan of Mitch Hedberg, I found your site so randomly, but you have a random train of thought like I do, I checked for the joke of the day. I recommend the donut joke, a personal favorite. Interesting…..

Hey Jen, I’m glad you found the site. I love the donut joke! The one about the receipt, right? I’ll post that one next. It’s a shame Mitch passed away. I’d just discovered him a few months before it happened.

Happy: We love it out here, but you don’t want to be away from your family. At least most people don’t.
Kay: Go Beach!

DD - I can’t believe you listed “The Jerk” as one of your favorite movies. That’s been a favorite of mine ever since I was a kid. I love Steve Martin in that movie. “All I need is this chair . . . and this thermos . . .” Outrageous.
Keep bloggin’ DD. I love your site. Maybe I’ll see your fam totin’ around the babito one of these days. I live in So Cal too. My brain doesn’t really leak though, so you don’t need to worry about that.

Abarclay: I love that movie. “Stay away from the cans! He hates cans!” I only dream to be 1/4 as funny as you someday.

DD - How’s the wisdom of crowds? What is it about?
11 Daddy Dan // Nov 10, 2007 at 12:07 am
Abarclay: The wisdom of crowds is the guy’s theory, that crowds of people usually make better decisions than even a small group of experts in a chosen field. I just started reading it, so that’s all I got right now.
