To me, the best gifts are those that challenge the imagination most. When I was a boy, I had just the basics: the Barrel of Monkeys, Hot Wheels cars, Big Jim (an equivalent to GI Joe), a bicycle, picture-books, Play Dough, the yo-yo, board games, little dinosaurs, a record player, a ball, rubber-band guns, etc. My parents could afford fancier stuff, but wisely stayed with the basics. Three? Already?! Where did the time go?

For our daughter’s 3rd birthday we had a party at home in the backyard. One of the big hits was a small parachute I bought. All the adults held the edges and the kids ran under as we lifted it up and down. A bounce house is always a hit with toddlers, too

i had the huge, obligatory party for 1… then for 2 i did super small. it all just ends up being a party for all YOUR friends, you know?> lol
for 3, i had a party at the park- simple with pizza and cake and fun-ness. blake got a little scooter and baseball stuff and golf stuff that he loved. kids are easy at that age. they like anything.
