I can’t believe that, two weeks from tomorrow, we will be celebrating Babito’s 2nd Birthday.
Time really does fly. Where’s the brakes?
He’s growing up too fast. He’s speaking in whole sentences now. He knows the words to entire songs. He knows the difference between a circle, a square, a rectangle, and an oval.Yesterday morning, my wife and I dropped him off at daycare together. As I’ve talked about before, I dread taking him because he always starts bawling on the rare times I drop him off (He doesn’t do it with his Mommy because it’s their routine.). My wife and I took him in the house and as we went to leave Babito grabbed my hand and said “Come on, Daddy!”
As we walked to the door I tried to explain to him that Mommy and Daddy had to go to work. As we reached the porch he let go of my hand and said “Bye Daddy. Bye Mommy.” and walked back into the house. Our little baby is growing up. And while I was thrilled he didn’t cry, I felt a little wistful about it.
My little baby is becoming a little boy.

Aw. Sweet story.
And I must say, your wife is very beautiful and looks so refreshed with newborn babito there. Jealous.

Awww, you’re a lucky guy, Dan! Beautiful wife and beautiful baby. And I love that Babito had all of that hair from the very beginning! It’s neat to see his full head of hair in your header and then see it all when he was a baby.

Your wife is so beautiful!
And them growing up is so hard. It kills me every time my kids tell me “I don’t need help, I can do it by myself.”

Nanette: Babito thanks you. Come back on 8/29 for a much bigger birthday post!
Katie: I’m very lucky. He had a big mop of hair the day he was born. I hope he holds on to it longer than his Daddy!
Debbie: Thanks, Debbie! Babito has ALREADY started saying that! So depressing!!!

You DO have such a beautiful family. Sounds like you can feel confident in your daycare provider since Babito seems so well adjusted.

Terri: Thanks! Unfortunately it’s his temporary daycare provider. He starts his new permanent one in September.
