Nanette at Say It, Don’t Spray It is one of the first bloggers I came in contact with when I started this blog in September 2007. In fact, I just went back and looked at my earliest posts and saw that Nanette left a comment on the 2nd post I’d ever published.
Nanette and Brent on their wedding day:

She’s been blogging non-stop for over four years now, sharing her life experiences, her many outings with her husband, Brent, and lately, their excitement and planning for their upcoming arrival, a baby GIRL. Her posts are always filled with great photos, as well (check out her Flickr page too). Nanette has been posting a weekly “belly shot”. Here’s the latest, at 30 weeks, 6 days:

I highly recommend reading her blog, and it should only get more exciting as the baby arrives and Nanette and Brent’s life completely changes with the arrival of Em Dash!
Here’s my interview with Nanette:
Daddy Dan (DD): Tell me a little about yourself.
Nanette (N): In a nutshell, I’m a 30-something wife and mom-to-be who loves live music, baking and getting ready for the arrival of our beautiful little girl in October. I work as an editor for an online publication.
DD: How long have you been blogging?
N: I’ve been blogging since June 2004, so a little more than four years now.
DD: What got you started?
N: I started it as a way to keep in touch with friends and family.
Daddy Dan (DD): Why do you continue blogging? What do you get out of it? How long do you think you’ll continue?
N: I use my blog as a personal diary of my life, in addition to keeping friends and family updated. At the beginning of each month I like to look back at that same month a year (or two or three) ago to see where I’ve been and how far I’ve come. A nice bonus has been all the wonderful friends I’ve made via the blogosphere. They’re such a great support system during all of life’s big changes (getting married, having a baby, etc.).
I don’t see myself stopping my blog anytime soon — or at all, actually. It’s probably my biggest “hobby” now that it feels strange for me to go more than a few days without posting.
It’s also a record that my future children can look back on. I can’t imagine how cool it would have been to have a glimpse into my parents’ lives when they were my age!
Daddy Dan (DD): Tell me a little about your blog.
N: Lately it’s focused on my pregnancy and the October arrival of our first child, a little girl we’ve nicknamed “Em Dash” because my pregnancy book once said, “Your baby is the size of this dash –” But in the four years I’ve been blogging, I’ve written about everything from my baking adventures (I love cupcakes) to my numerous concerts (I love artists like John Mayer, Maroon 5, Stone Temple Pilots, etc.) to all the fun stuff my husband and I do here in LA (our favorite restaurants, Farmer’s Markets, celeb sightings, etc.) to the moments where I’m missing my father, who passed away in 2003.
Daddy Dan (DD): What types of blogs do you enjoy reading?
N: I gravitate toward bloggers who are a lot like me – upbeat, quirky and funny. And I especially enjoy bloggers who I can envision as folks I’d hang out with “in real life.”
Do you monitor your blog stats?
N: Totally! It’s fun to see what Google searches lead to my site, as well as discovering what new blogs link to me.
Daddy Dan (DD): What are your favorite “non-blogging” activities?
N: Exploring LA restaurants and attending lots of concerts. But these days my favorite non-blogging activity has been preparing for the arrival of our little one!
Daddy Dan (DD): What is the secret to happiness?
N: Surrounding myself with positive people and finding the fun in everything I do.
Daddy Dan (DD): What is your favorite quote?
N: “Reality can be beaten with enough imagination.” – Anonymous
Daddy Dan (DD): What, so far, has been the happiness moment of your life?
N: While my wedding day definitely ranks up there, I’d have to say the moment that my husband and I found out I was pregnant.
Daddy Dan (DD): What has been your biggest regret?
N: Not flossing more. Stupid weak enamel!
Daddy Dan (DD): Where do you see yourself in ten years?
N: I see myself with continued success in my journalism career, living in a fabulous home with my husband and two kids. And hopefully still blogging!
Daddy Dan (DD): What are your favorite places in the world?
N: The area on my husband’s chest when his arm is around me; the massage table at my favorite spa; poolside at the Hyatt in Kauai.
Daddy Dan (DD): Tell us something most people don’t know about you.
N: While I love All-American, clean cut boys like my hottie hubby, I have a special place in my heart for rocker, tatted-up guys like Stone Temple Pilots’ Scott Weiland.

Nanette: No, thank YOU for participating. I thought your interview was great, and I’m getting a lot of hits, just from your Twitter post! Thanks!
Sandy: You really should check her out. And that girl’s been to more concerts than anyone I know.
Katie: I can tell by reading her for the past year that she’s a genuinely (is that a word?) great person.
Heather: I haven’t had the chance to meet her, but I don’t doubt it. I can’t wait to hear her baby stories.
VegasDad: There’s no doubt about it. Her husband, Brent, is going to be a great dad too.
