Thanks so much for the advice. We have two 14 month olds-we call it the whining zombie walk-its driving us crazy! They must have learned it from some where though (me). So we will start using the tips and more positive reinforcement.

Wow, I really needed this article. After reading all the ( i am a great mom my kid is perfect)articles on how to take care of my little 18 month old monster when he bites hits and whines its nice to know their are normal frustrated parents out there who feel the same. It has certainly put a whole new perspective on my day. :>

Thank GOODNESS i am not alone! My 3 1/2 year old is driving me bonkers with this right now. I use all of the tactics and sometimes they work and other times/days they seem to not work. Trying to be more consistent with my responses and not get in to too much explaining/use too many words! Thanks!!

Goodness, my daughter is going through this right now. Except, her whining will eventually turn into a full on tantrum sometimes. Fun! I’ll have to check out her site. I’m currently using the timeout method and setting boundaries before I lose my marbles. But she still tests me. Every. moment. she can….thanks DD!

omg i’m totally agreeing with her. i’ll take whining over a tantrum ANYDAY. however, whining DOES suck. i choose neither lol
