“Every asshole in the world says he loves somebody. It means nothing. It still doesn’t mean anything. What you feel only matters to you. It’s what you do to the people you say you love, that’s what matters. It’s the only thing that counts.” – Stephen, The Last Kiss
I read this quote somewhere the other day, on someone’s blog or Flickr page, but I couldn’t find it again to link to them. I’ve never even seen the movie, but the quote struck me as something simple yet so true.
You can tell the people you love that you love them, but it doesn’t mean anything if your actions tell them something entirely different. You must SHOW people that you love them by the way you treat them, the things you do for them, the support you provide them in good times and bad. We only have one shot at this, so let’s all make the most of it. Go out and SHOW someone that you love them today.

I have blogger love for you DD. I’ll think of a way to express it one of these days, and no – no pictures of me now ice skating. I’m sure someone is trying to sell them somewhere though. I mean, right???

What a wonderful quote and post! I couldn’t agree more. It drives me crazy when people use the word “love” loosely like they would for a new pair of shoes. “Action speaks louder than words.” It’s no different with love

AB: I feel the same way, even if you did send all your ice skating pictures to Virgilius. Goog luck with the prison guard job!
Sandy: Thanks. People think they can say “I Love You” to make up for mistreating or doing something mean to others. The phrase is used much too loosely, even when you mean it.

Becky: Yes, I thought that quote summed up the “actions speak louder than words” quote.
