Wow, I was off work for 11 straight days, so it was TOUGH to get out of bed this morning. The Babito had a hard time waking up too. He was uncharacteristically whiny this morning. My wife and I got into some bad habits with our long holiday break. We stayed up late and slept in every day. The Babito was nice enough to go along with our schedule, sleeping in with us and staying up well past his bed time. We’ve totally screwed up his schedule, which we’ve had him on for so long.
I was getting ready to get in the shower this morning and The Babito sat up in bed and looked at me with a look of “What the heck are you doing up?” I brought him his bottle and after he drank it he laid down and started to go back to sleep. I picked him up and put him in his playpen in our bathroom. He was still half asleep when I left for work.
My wife said he was crying when she dropped him off at the babysitter. He hasn’t been there in almost two weeks, so it’ll probably take a few days for him to get readjusted. The babysitter called her later this morning and said he was doing fine.
That’s about all I have for now. I’m off to get my third cup of coffee so I can make it through my huge backlog of work e-mails. Was I the only one on vacation these past two weeks?

I wasn’t lucky to be off either. I took those 11 days off last year, and I think I was dragging for about 2 weeks when I finally got back to work. I didn’t have the luxury of taking those days off this year. Damn, the job transfer!

Becky: It was nice. Thanks for the good luck.
Tara: It was nice being off, but I hope to use more of my vacation on a VACATION this year. We’ll see.
Michelle: I’m still not adjusted to getting up at 6:00am. I got used to sleep until 10:00 (at the earliest!)

I also had eleven days off, and yesterday I was a ZOMBIE, reading through work emails in a half-asleep manner (I wonder how many important things I ended up ignoring in those emails, and that’s WITH coffee….LOL )

Hi, I’m usually a lurker and not a commenter, but I was just saying this same thing to my husband today…he was off for a couple of weeks over the holidays as well, and we stayed up way too late and slept in far too long every day. Yesterday was the first day back for everyone, and it was torture!! I feel your pain!!

I feel like I stayed up late with you guys and slept in with you too. Wait. Is that weird to say?? I just mean that I did the exact same, and I cant even bear the thought of having to go back to work on Monday. I don’t know what I’m going to do about that DD.

Romi: I know what you mean. Plus my eyes were bloodshot all day….looked like I had a hangover.
Karen: I’m glad you stopped lurking and started commenting. Welcome. It was bad, and I feel sorry for The Babito….he didn’t know what was going on.
Leaky: Not weird, just wishful thinking on your part.
Wow, you teachers get the best vacations. What do you do with your summer break?

I too have been off of work, although not on vacation since the 24th and my sleeping schedule is so off! Hopefully we can get back into the swing of things quickly because waking up is hard!
