I am a HUGE fan of the Geo Trax... my son, now 4 got them for his second b-day, and LOVES them! They are pretty tough too... we haven't had one break yet... and he plays with them all the time!! ~ Tip: save the instructions for the layouts ~ although you can come up with your own, I'm sure, it is good to have them for back up. :)

My daughters got the ball popper for Christmas last year and actually all the kids LOVE it and still do... it is a HUGE favorite around here... although I have to tell you ~ you will be searching for the balls often, they don't go right back into the funnel, but that is what makes it so fun !! (and it is a little bit nosey)

~ Ideas: A sit n spin??? Fisher Price Musical Animal Train??? Entertainment cube, for lack of better words, like they have in the drs waiting room, but for your home, they have them in Toys R Us and probably Target, my kids LOVE the one we have! Learn Through Music (although a loud toy, but enteraining and teaching!) The Learning Home ~ it has been a favorite toy here for about 2 1/2 years! Plus the accessories to go with it... Learning Phone, Learning Chair, Learning Vacuum, and many more! My kids also love their Step 2 play kitchen ~ play food, grocery cart, Step 2 table & chairs and Step 2 storage bin for toys! :) Also Leap Frog ~ Tad and the Leap Frog fridge stuff... like the Fridge Phonics and the DJ thing and the Matching Animals... all by Leap Frog! :) I could go on and on, but I think I'll leave it at that for now... Enjoy shopping and I can't wait to hear what you come up with for gift for the lil' man and also what he though of them after Christmas!

Happy Holidays!
Hugs, Jenn

Wow, Jen! Your comment is longer than my post! Thanks for all of the information. He has some of the Leap Frog stuff and likes it. I'll have to check out some of the other stuff as well. Thanks for sharing! - DD

My daughter is close to your son's age and also loves pushing around cars and trains. We've had the same issues with sneaking items into the cart without her yelling "MINE" and wanting the toys right now.

These are two gift ideas that are reasonably priced and small...

Good luck!

Thanks, Jamie. He has the garage with the ramp and he loves it. I'll have to check out the Sesame Street one as well. I hope you come back and visit again! - DD

Holy crap, do they make a grown-up version of the Santa-Fe train set? You know how cool it would be to have one of those snaking through my house?...seriously toy-train company, make a grown-up version STAT :-)

Just like the Silver Spoons train. You could hop on it in your bedroom in the morning, ride it into the kitchen and pick up your coffee, then ride it into the bathroom to get ready for the day. It'd make you want to get out of bed in the morning. - DD

Missy likes 2 and 3, we don't have them, but our friends do, and she goes crazy with them:o)
Also, does Babito have a ball pit? We got one for Missy last year, and she just loved it....so did my husband:o)

It looks like 2 and 3 are going to be hits! That's what all the reviews were saying about them too. He doesn't have a ball pit, but he does have a big bag of those balls. We use to put them in his inflatable bathtub and he'd love to play with them.

Oh. My. God. Babito is so lucky to have that train! Me and my brother always longed to have it ever since we saw Ricky Shroder ride on one in Silver Spoons.

Hey VG! I remember that train on Silver Spoons! I wanted one too!

My daughter LOVES #2 and #3. We don't have either, but she goes nuts for them at other peoples house :)....the best place to have noisy toys like this! My daughter also loves to play inside any tents. We have a foldable tent we pull out for her in the living room :)

That's good to hear! I didn't know that #2 was noisy....oh well. We had a big tent set up but he was kind of afraid to go in it by himself, so we took it down.
