The people in the photo above are some of the most vile, disgusting people on the planet. These scum love to protest outside of funerals for soldiers that have been killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. Beyond the signs you see in the photo, they also hold up signs that say “God Hates Fags.” They also stage their despicable protests outside funerals for people that have died of AIDS.
These asses, members of the Westboro Baptist Church, believe that the deaths of our soldiers and the deaths of those with AIDS is God’s punishment to America for tolerating the gay lifestyle.
The father of a fallen soldier, Matthew Snyder, sued this ‘church’ and won! Here’s an article discussing the court case.

Its a shame that these people are being lead by unloving individuals and you have every right to feel anger. The human race can be very inhumane and this brings some sadness and frutration to those of us who have compassion for the rest of the world. Especially our beloved soldiers. Straight or gay.
Lets pray for them. Isnt that what Jesus would do? I have found that when I bless those who do me or others ill will, a positive shift happens.
Blessing them and praying for their highest good may be what it will take to correct their vile actions.
Blessings.

They all need corrective therapy I say. It doesn’t matter how many weapons we make to blow each other up. In the end, we humans with our differences and disagreements are far worse monsters than those hiding under our own beds at night. Or in fairy tales.

I had never seen images of these people before. This is incredibly sad and disgusting. I agree with the commenter above V. Sade.

Good for that father!!!!
Its funny…the people who claim to be the “most holy and righteous” always seem to be the ones with the most hate in their hearts.

Jilsrun: I know what you are saying, but it’s difficult.
Virgilius: I agree
Momisodes: Thanks for visiting the site! Be careful about agreeing with Virgilius too much. =)
VG: Yep, not just here in the U.S. The terrorists/extremists in the Middle East are supposedly, to them, the most devout Muslims.

That’s appalling.
Being a Christian myself, it disgusts me to the very core to see people say things like “God hates fags” or “Thank God for dead soldiers” … Talk about a misrepresentation of the character of God! I can’t even imagine what kind of ‘logic’ or ‘foundation’ (and I use those terms lightly) they base this on.
I’m glad that father won the case. I cannot believe anyone could be so disrespectful and downright… tactless. Disgusting.

Uhg, those people…
I’m a christian, and I would never do something like that. It’s not our job to judge other people, it’s God’s(and from what I was taught and what I’m teaching my kids is that he loves everybody). What those people are doing is just wrong, tacky and putting a bad name out there for other christians.
I soo glad that the father won the case.

Chanel and Mommyca: I agree, they definitely are giving a bad name to other Christians. I don’t understand how people can talk the word of God and misinterpret it so badly. These kind of actions are definitely not something that Jesus would condone.

First time commenting, and I wanted to say I like reading your blog. Anyway, I say, “Way to go!” to the dad who won the lawsuit against this vile group. My brother is a Marine, and I don’t know how any human being could show up at a service member’s funeral and shout these disgusting remarks at the grieving family. I’m not sure how they can call themselves Christians.
As a sidenote – I saw them on 20/20 Friday night, and I was even more disgusted after watching. The adults teach their children these vile sayings. There was a clip of a (maybe) 3 year old singing about burning in hell, and a six year old using the words, “the bastards will burn in hell.” Great parenting, huh?

Tara: Thanks for commenting! Welcome. I was going to comment that there are children in that picture and that was terrible that this kind of thinking is being passed down to another generation. You probably know from reading the blog, but my nephew is a Marine and just got back from Iraq. I can’t believe that these people haven’t gotten their asses kicked yet.

And Tara, thanks for the link on your blog!

I know that here in Michigan, that same group came to protest at a local soldiers funeral. The best thing was that the local motorcycle clubs got together and made so much noise and had such a presence that it drowned out the hate. You couldn’t even see them behind the ocean of motorcycles.

I saw a story about these freaks a few days ago. It’s inconceivable to me that these people think they are actually Christians!
