I’m kind of stealing this idea from Bella at ‘It Is What It Is,’ but it seemed like an interesting topic so I thought I’d go with it.
How many different cars have you owned and what were they? My first car was a………..
1. 1969 Volkswagen Bug

The Bug was my first car, and I got it the day I turned 16. It was a great little car to have. Mine was a royal blue color, and it was born the same year I was. I had this car for a few years until I sold it and bought a……..
See the rest of the cars I’ve owned after the jump
2. 1987 Honda CRX

A relative of mine worked for Honda at the time and got me a great deal on a slightly used CRX. It was also a fun little car to drive. Everyone always wondered how I could fit my 6′4″ frame into it, but it had plenty of run, as it had no backseat, which kind of sucked on dates. I sold this car to a girl I went to high school with and she totaled it the first day she had it.
3. 1990 Mustang 5.0

My next car was a 1990 Mustang, with the 5.0 engine. I thought I was so cool. I bought it brand-new on my 21st birthday. I had my first car payment. This car was a big upgrade in power from my previous cars, but I never got a speeding ticket in it, despite going well over 100mph on many occasions. It’s a miracle I never killed myself in it.
4. 1995 Honda Civic

My next car was a Honda Civic. Nice reliable, fuel efficient, and boring. I had this car for too long. I finally sold it and got a real man’s car.
5. 2002 Toyota Tundra

I love my Toyota Tundra. In fact, we still have it, but it only gets driven to work or to the train station. This truck is great. I would highly recommend a Tundra to anyone. Drives as smooth as a car and I’ve never had a major problem with it.
6. 2006 Toyota Highlander

Last year, a few months before the Babito was born, my wife and I traded in her Toyota Camry and bought a Highlander, our first family car. We were NOT going to get a minivan, no matter how practical they are. This car has been great so far. I think we’ve become a Toyota family.
Ok, let’s see your lists. What cars have you owned? What was your favorite? Which car did you hate? Do you wish you still had one of the cars from your past?

Great idea for a post. I loooove your first car
I always love the older Bugs. I think I like the older body much more than the new. you’ve had quite a few cars! I’ve only had 3 cars my whole life. I would have had 2, but I was carjacked after buying my second (that’s another story for a post one day)…..

My first car in high school was the one I got from my parents, it was a 1989 Red Ford Mustang, much like the one in your picture (except the less cool un-sporty version)..I love how that thing would fish-tail in the winter and make me fear for my life…lol..

I can’t believe you classmate totaled your CRX. That’s crazy DD. My first car was a honda accord. Black with a racing strip on the left side and a Jesus fish on the back. My mom got a really good deal on it, but I was thinking they’d get rid of the stripe and fish, but they didn’t.

Nanette: Thanks! Where’s your list?
Momisodes: I know, but I’ve had the Tundra for almost 6 years now, so I think I’m getting better at keeping cars. Looking forward to hearing the carjacking story. Scary!
Romi: Those Mustangs do have a lot of power, don’t they?
Abarclay: It was crazy. This girl was really ditzy, so it didn’t really surprise me. I’ve never seen an Accord with a racing stripe! People must have thought you were cool.

My first car was a 1981 Ford F150 with a hoe about 2 inches wide rusted through the floorboard so you could see the road going by underneath your feet while your were driving.
2nd 1997 Pontiac Sunfire
3rd 1997 Chrysler Seabring Convertible Sportscar Red… I loved this car and the attention I received from young ladies, being in college myself. However, 3 speeding tickets and a leak in the top and I traded it in.
4th 2000 GMC Sierra Truck
5th Chevrolet Cobalt
Now my wife and I share a mini-van. The mini-van is turning out to be one of my favorites just because it does everything all in one vehicle.
So wow that was a lot of cars. Hopefully someday I will actually pay one off.
