My nephew, Jonathan, is an infantryman in the Marines.  He’s been serving in Iraq since March.  He’s been deployed in the most dangerous part of Iraq, just outside of Baghdad, during his entire tour.  It’s been nerve-wracking for all of us.

Thursday is his last day in Iraq.  He’ll be heading to Germany and then back to his home base in Hawaii before heading home to California for a month of leave during the holidays.  We are so grateful that he’s remained safe.  He is a true hero to his family, especially to his little sisters and his many cousins who really look up to him.  We can’t wait to welcome him home.  Please keep him and all of our troops fighting for our freedom in your thoughts and prayers.  For those of you interested, this link takes you to a wonderful tribute to our troops:  Until We Meet Again
