I could just be biased, but I have that right, right? Babito is smart beyond his months, at least as I compare him to the weekly development stages e-mail we get from Babycenter.com. Now I hate when parents go around bragging about their kids, but I can’t help myself. Please indulge me.
At a mere 13 months, the Babito does all of the following things:
- Knows and can say a ton of words, including mama, daddy, dog, car, more, again, monkey, stinky, peekaboo, bath, truck, shoe, sock, Tigger, Pooh, play, boobies (talking about his only), park, fire (new one from watching the news reports), grandma, papa, phone, ball, book, man, elephant, duck, block, hug, kiss, and of course, caca. Oh, and I forgot his favorite word, NO!
- He’s a great dancer, and I don’t just mean he bounces up and down, he knows how to shake his booty, and to the beat! He even gets his hands involved. He gets this from his Mommy. Thankfully he doesn’t snap his fingers while he dances like his Daddy.
- He knows to put the phone up to his ear. Definitely learned that from watching his Mommy.
- He already helps dress and undress himself.
- He knows that the remote controls the TV. He doesn’t know how to work TIVO yet, thank God.
Well, that’s what I can think of right now. Can you tell I’m a proud Daddy?

Sounds awesome! and a baby who knows “caca”! Just don’t let him near computers or expensive vases. Or your homework.

Yup, Babito is most definitely smart! River says some words but not nearly that many. That is so cute that he dances and shakes his booty, I hope you have captured that on video.

Virgilius – Thanks for the tips. Luckily my homework days are over.
Fuzzy – I think all kids develop their language skills at different times. He’s just recently started picking up a lot of words. Yes, I just videotaped him last night dancing. We’ll have something to tease him with when he gets older!

I love hearing about Babito. He sounds like a cutie. You have a future Einstein on your hands! Better start saving for Harvard. =)

Thanks Valley Girl. No, he better earn himself a scholarship! We’ll save just in case, but if he gets one we’re spending the money on ourselves!
